Rushes (Genus Juncus)Observer

@seanblaney. Third and final Juncus inquiry from Magdalen Islands observations. This too has elongate capsules extending beyond tepals. Doesn’t looks quite like J gerardi and habitat was beyond tidal influence. Sand hollow in dune complex. Again mindful of J greenei possibilities. Thanks!

@seanblaney — another rush from Madalen Islands. Growing in sand hollow. Looks like somewhat J. gerardi except capsules are more elongate (extending beyond tepals). Primary bract not conspicuous. Not sure if Juncus greenei (long bract) is known from the islands.

Slender Path Rush (Juncus tenuis)Observer

@seanblaney. This was growing in a moist path through a dune complex on the Magdalen islands. Tepals are longer than capsules like J. tenuis. It’s probably just that species. Any thoughts? Thanks
