What
Grass Grub Beetle (Costelytra zealandica)Observer
sophiehDescription
Found in a pit-fall trap set in our garden. Trap was surrounded by grass clippings. I think it is the new Zealand species. It was quite round and although it was a dark colour, it may have been due to being wet at the time.

Tracking card was placed in the corner of our back-yard amongst some trees and leaf-litter. Smooth peanut-butter was placed inside and the tunnel was left untouched for three nights. One half of the card is difficult to read but the tracks on the other half appear to be from a hedgehog, maybe more than one.
