Bald Eagle Haliaeetus leucocephalus

Description

This is a terribly unclear, long-distance photo, but as the bird approached this perch near the top of a White pine tree, its white head and tail were clearly visible. The bird was much bigger than a crow. This is the first time we have seen an eagle in this location!

Description

These round prints are about 2 inches across, with 5 separate toes and toenail marks visible. The animal was apparently not in a hurry. I followed the trail for a long way through the woods. It often, but not always, followed a well-worn deer trail. Fisher? Skunk? Something else?
