I grew up in the Sonoran Desert, and my playground was a large piece of desert, just south of the Estrella Mountains. I'd like to help document and preserve all of the creatures and plants that have been lifelong friends. I'm now living just south of the Catalina Mountains, among the Sky Islands. I hike and observe and take mini-field trips when I can, and have learned so much while participating in this Citizen Scientist opportunity. I'm also a spinner, and an all-around fiber artist, so cochineal insects have a special place in my heart.
