I work for the Colorado Desert District (CA State Parks) and have been studying the flora of the Colorado Desert, the Cuyamaca Mountains, and Palomar Mountains with my mentor Larry Hendrickson for about 5 years now. I'm mainly interested in our local rare and disjunct plant species and I frequently use Google Maps to find new areas to botanize, especially ones where there's been little to no documentation.

Previously I worked as an assistant vegetation ecologist for the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and I also did 3 seasons of fieldwork for the Great Basin Institute in CA, WY, and NV.
