I am a lifelong birder and naturalist, and have spent the last several years pursuing a wildlife biology and environmental education career, with a MS in Biology and BS in Forestry. I currently (since Aug. 2017) work as an interpretive park ranger for Maricopa County Parks & Recreation Dept. at 9 parks surrounding the valley of Phoenix, AZ, and teaching visiting students at our Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant. From 2017-2021 I was stationed full-time at the Hassayampa River Preserve near Wickenburg, AZ, which I still live near. I am an Arizona native and have experience conducting biological surveys for birds, desert tortoises, and plants in the western U.S., along with 1.5 years living in Kansas City working as an avian biologist conducting bird surveys across the Midwest and Great Plains states. Since 2013, I've made 9 trips down into the state of Sonora, Mexico (including the Álamos, Yécora, San Carlos, Hermosillo, Obregon, Navojoa, and Cucurpe regions), and a little into adjacent Chihuahua in the Sierra Madre more recently. In addition to birds, my interests include plants, herps, odonates, butterflies, and biogeography. Whenever I'm out in nature I'm always looking at everything! I most enjoy checking out under-visited places to see what organisms live there. Yo hablo español un poquito, pero necesito practicar y aprender más.
