Hello: I'm a Naturalist / Educator with a longtime specialty in edible / medicinal plants of the Northeast and a more recent enthusiasm for the Odonates (dragonflies and damselflies.) I teach adult natural history and recreational programs (Amazing Odonates; Compost Alive!; Edible / Medicinal Plants; and Mah Jongg, the Chinese tile-trading game...) through CVU Access in Hinesburg, VT. During the summer, I direct NatureHaven Day Camp (ages 6+) which is based out of my home in Milton, VT. I also conduct natural history inventories (focused on edible / medicinal and useful plants and insects / dragonflies) and lead nature walks around local natural areas and private properties for individuals, recreation departments and other groups. After many years of acting as scribe on field trips and writing short articles for the VT Entomological Society (see VermontInsects.org / Newskletter / Calendar for free walks), I'm now compiling / co-editing the quarterly Newsletter. I'm also a member of the Milton Conservation Commission. I just started using iNaturalist this year, but enjoy having so much help identifying my catch / photograph / release specimens. Namaste and good day, Laurie D. :-)
