I am trained formally as an entomologist with specialty in ants. My day job for the last 25 years has been as naturalist at eastern Missouri's premier display of native plants and habitats, Shaw Nature Reserve (35 miles west of St. Louis, which also is starting up an iNaturalist account (coming soon...). I will be posting records here from my own back yard, and at the SNR site, observations exclusively from that location.
