My interests are many and varied though my passion is birds, particularly those in Australia since this is my country of origin. I also have an interest in photography and have some photos of plans and other organisms that I do not have the knowledge or expertise to name so this is one of the major reasons for joining. I hope there are people that can help me do this.
Since 2021 was the wettest year I have known in the Gascoyne region and my growing interest in our native flora which flourished during that time had me taking many photographs. I soon learnt that so many species could not be identified from photos alone so I have gained a licence enabling me to collect specimens. I have since embarked on an attempt to find as many different species as possible within the shires of Carnarvon, Upper Gascoyne and Shark Bay. I will never be able to find them all as we experience so many dry years, despite this I am driven to try.
