I have been a professional wildlife biologist for 15 years working across Africa, Asia, and several States in the USA. I currently work as the North Zone biologist for the US Forest Service on the George Washington National Forest in Virginia, covering about 600,000 acres of the GWNF. Learning about nature has been a lifelong process for me and I enjoy learning about new flora and fauna every day! Though my research specialty was charismatic megafauna (elephants) in grad school, I am also an avid birder, love native plants, fungi, herps, fish, and macroinvertebrates, and am trying to learn all of the Virginia lepidopteran and odonate species as well! In my position, I am charged with helping to manage all wildlife species and on the Forest, and helping to restore native landscapes and ecological processes.
