I work as researcher in tropical biology at MUSE, the Science Museum of Trento, in Italy, I'm mainly interested in systematics, biogeography, evolutionary processes and conservation of Amphibians and Reptiles of East Africa. I have been working on East African biodiversity since 1995 and I’ve spent most of my time in the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania, more recently I have carried out biological exploration of montane forests outside of Tanzania (the main focus of my work prior to 2008). This includes biological exploration in Ethiopia, Eastern DRC, Rwanda and Mozambique, for some of these areas it was the first comprehensive biological exploration ever conducted. During almost two decades I’ve had the privilege to work with a great group of people and share with them great time and beers in one of the most diverse places on earth. Collectively the fieldwork and subsequent analysis led to the discovery of dozens species of vertebrates new to science. You can find more info here: www.michelemenegon.it
