Hello, I'm a retired elementary school teacher who happens to enjoy the study of the natural world around me. Last fall I completed the California Naturalist program through Yolo Basin Foundation. At that time I was introduced to iNaturalist. Our class used iNaturalist heavily during the course. During my time in the Cal. Naturalist Program, I became interested in the plant life that exist on the Serpentine soils of northern California . I'm currently spending two or three days a month on the UC McLaughlin Nature Reserve in Napa, Lake, Yolo county area of the coastal range . I was asked by the director to help improve their standing in UCRS project on the iNaturalist website. Over the next year, I should think most of my observation will be initiated at the McLaughlin location. Mike Stewart
