Living in a Country Park, beside a Marine Park, I am surrounded by the most amazing flora and fauna - Hong Kong's biodiversity is so rich in species. I am building up a photographic record of the species in the Hoi Ha River Valley. Every year, a lepidopterist carries out a butterfly survey for Friends of Hoi Ha - we have now reached 102 species. I have documented the coastal vegetation, including mangroves, in front of the village of Hoi Ha.

I work with children/students from kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and universities, taking them on guided tours, discussing the flora and fauna, the social history of the Hakkas and their farming and boulder trackways, and the volcanic geology of the area. Some groups want to discuss environmental management and the threats to the environment posed by the Small House Policy. Every January, the University of New York sends me a group of students who work on a Nature Trail FOHH have designed along abandoned trails around the river valley and into the Marine Park.
