I have been managing Audubon's Ten Mile Creek Sanctuary since 1990. The Sanctuary is located south of Yachats and is nestled between Cummins and Rock Creek Wildernesses. This landscape unit from Cape Creek/Heceta Head to Cape Perpetua and Yachats River has been designated a Globally Significant Important Bird Area for the ESA listed Marbled Murrelet. And in the nearshore there is a Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve, Marine Protected Area and a Seabird Protected Area.

We are just now starting to engage in the 'Cape Perpetua Bioblitz 2016'. This land- sea conservation strategy includes many partners/Siuslaw National Forest, ODFW, Sea Lion Caves, OPRD and the local landowners/community members.
