Born and raised on a farm, I have always been interested in nature. My university education is in mathematics and computer science, but I spent my first year studying general science. I have always liked reading magazines like National Geographic, Canadian Geographic, Equinox, Nature and any gardening magazine I could get my hands on.

Anything in nature piques my interest, a bird flitting about in the trees, a colourful flower, the quirky shape of a mushroom, a snake slithering through the leaf litter. My camera is usually by my side, so a quick pic for later identification.
