I spend much of my time rummaging around on the ground, mainly searching for fungi which make perfect subjects for some stunning photography - for two reasons.

1- Fungi belong to such a diverse kingdom with huge variability of shape, colour and habit, even within a single specie.
2- Fungi remain almost entirely still which allows you to get them in perfect focus.

Because I spend so much time looking at the ground, I often come across various insects, chilopods, diplopods and arachnids, out of these arthropods, arachnids always capture my attention... they are, in my opinion, the perfect predators and ambushers.

When I hear rustling in the bushes or bird calls from the trees I always pause to take in the scenery and listen to the exciting chatter of the wildlife around me.. but because I take such pleasure in these moments I rarely remember to take photographs or recordings of them.
