Interpretive Station and Guided Hike at Marsh Lake - July 12

Happy Friday of the Treasured Wetlands Bioblitz!

On Monday, July 12 (our final day of the Bioblitz!), we have an exciting event planned at Marsh Lake, a new Treasured Wetland in 2021:

We will have interpretive tables set up at Sandy Lake Beach from 12:00 - 3:30 pm on Monday July 12th, 2021. Take a peek into our specimen collection with the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park. Come learn about the importance of our wetlands, our species at risk, and what you can do to help! If you're feeling extra adventurous, register for the guided hike up to Marsh Lake at 1:30pm! Register soon as spots are limited. Copy and paste the link into a new tab to register and to learn more about the guided hike: forms.gle/t3vHbrbBvViD92HL7

More information about this hike can be found here: facebook.com/events/358613355642583

We hope to see you there!

Marsh Lake is located in Bedford, off of Hammonds Plains Road. Parking is available at the Sandy Lake Park parking lot. Follow the 500m trail to Sandy Lake Beach, where you will find the interpretive station. Be aware that the trails to Marsh Lake have more difficult terrain than the trail to Sandy Lake Beach, and may not be suitable for all Bioblitzers. We strongly encourage those who want to hike to Marsh Lake to register for the guided hike and stay on the blazed path.
