Hey Akron,

Good news! We've extended the 2020 Akron BioBlitz though the end of 2020. Please continue to submit your observations to the project in the coming months.

As of August 31, the project had 195 observations across 146 different species! Observations of plants, mammals, insects, fungi, and more from all over Akron were recorded by iNaturalist users just like you. Special shout out to iNaturalist user jessd2018 for submitting 90 observations during the first 2 months alone!

We want to continue to see all of your observations as we enter fall and winter, so get out there and keep discovering!

After the success of Akron Recreation & Parks first project, Akron Birds, we're back with a whole new project targeting all the wildlife of Akron, Ohio. Akron Recreation & Parks wants to see your flora and fauna from throughout the City of Akron. Plants, animals, insects, fungi... anything living and wild is free game in this all-inclusive BioBlitz.

Akron BioBlitz is organized by the City of Akron Recreation & Parks division as part of our Summer 2020 Digital Programming. Akron Recreation & Parks offers quality of life activities for all our area residents – the young and young at heart! We offer active adult activities, sports for kids and adults, programs and classes at all of our community centers, events for the whole family to enjoy, and opportunities to connect in your neighborhood.
