(Another) new meadowhawk for the Sunshine Coast

A Cherry-faced Meadowhawk has been seen on the SC, first by Arnold Skei, and later by myself - Rand Rudland. This species was predicted to be here but had not been seen in prior years. This brings our species total to 43, with only one species yet to be photographed - the Spiny Baskettail.

Potential new species for the area are Band-winged Meadowhawk, Zigzag Darner and maybe Subarctic Darner.

New meadowhawk for the SC

Arnold Skei spends a lot of time in the field. Once again it has paid off with the first sighting of a Black Meadowhawk (Sympetrum danae), found on the power line above the Sechelt Airport 2 days ago, and we saw it again today in the same area.
