The Dungog Dozen BioBlitz is a free citizen science event that brings together scientists, naturalists and the community to create a snapshot of biodiversity in the Dungog Common. Be inspired by our experts as they take you on guided surveys where you’ll go hunting for birds, insects, plants and mammals.
The mixture of wildlife experts and the wider community is central to the BioBlitz concept and creates an event which is both enjoyable and meaningful to scientists and the community, which achieves a deeper knowledge of the species of this place and encourages further observation, learning and recording of biodiversity. Participants joining this event will have the opportunity to:
- Join surveys and learn about the many fascinating birds, plants and insects and other organisms that call Dungog Common home.
- Engage with experts and learn from educational material at the basecamp.
The event will be held on Saturday the 20th of May 2017. Surveys will be carried out from 10am to 1pm in the afternoon.
