The early spring butterflies are starting to show up in numbers and in addition to the usual suspects - Mourning Cloaks, Eastern Commas, Compton Tortoiseshells etc - we are seeing an early influx of Red Admirals. Sure enough, there was an observation in Windsor on Friday, then numerous observations yesterday from Backus Woods in Norfolk. Then they crossed the Niagara Escarpment and showed up in Brampton, Oakville, the Humber Valley and Pickering.
