PERT Beaver Watch

Help track beaver activity at Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust!
A complete observation for this project would include:

1. A beaver sighting OR sign of beaver activity (chewing, damming, scent mound, etc.)
2. Date and time
3. Orienting pictures: Pictures of area surrounding observation point. This will help Trust staff nail down the exact location of your observation, and avoid double-counting.
4. If submitting chewing observations, try to ID the species of vegetation chewed.

Background:
A beaver moved into Crossroads Marsh at Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust in the summer of 2017 and began building a lodge. A mate arrived in 2018, and the pair may have already had a kit (baby beaver). As exciting as it is to have these fascinating ecosystem engineers choose PERT as their home, we need to make sure that their foraging and flooding won't jeopardize the Trust's commitments to reforestation and recreation. You can help us make an informed, scientific decision about how many beaver the Trust can support.
