I am an aspiring marine biologist with a passion for cetaceans, particularly porpoises, though sadly I have never seen one in the wild. I primarily identify cetaceans and request that observers going on whale watching tours please maintain a respectfull distance from cetaceans and before booking tours ask questions like:
Can I touch the Cataceans?
and
How close can we get?
If the answers are "yes" and "very close" then it is probably not the best option (acknologing that not everyone can afford a respectfull/credible whale watching option (sustainability sould not be but is a privlage)).

Athough you do not necesarily need a whale watching tour to see cetaceans, if it works for you and your budget, they can be great environmentally freindly economic busineses.

Thank you!

phocoenasinus is not following anyone.
