I am an evolutionary biologist with a background in biochemistry. I study the evolutionary genetics of floral trait adaptation in Solanaceae and Plantaginaceae (you can read about my scientific pursuits on my webpage: https://lcwheeler.github.io/). My interest in the molecular mechanisms of evolution is ultimately rooted in my appreciation of the incredible biological diversity on our planet. I am passionate about nature and I love observing and photographing plants and animals. I spend a lot of my free time out and about looking for interesting living things.
