Our Comments :

Tony R. @bean_ar Bean what do you think please? – April 30th.

I think it is an Argophyllum (alternate leaves, white underneath, toothed margin), but I have never worked with such young plants, so could not venture an opinion on the species. – April 30th.

Tony Bean.
Thank you very much for your thoughts, out of your extensively informed background.

Identification just to genus is great news for me for today.
More determination some day to species identity will keep well! :)
Since this observation 8 months ago, on a few occasions I worked to identify this sapling by RFK ed. 8 selecting matching features thus spp.,
then doing intense leaf scans searches.

Until today when I got a blessed selection of this small sapling's features through the RFK ed. 8 seedlings characters (with care, seedling ≠ saplings),
to narrow down the results enough to notice some Argophyllum spp. leaf scans venation details matching closely enough to these saplings,
for my confidence to identify this genus. A small 'Eureka' moment today.

Hence then this arvo I uploaded these 5 photographs,
and am more happy now you have shared your informed thoughts carefully corroborating this genus Argophyllum.

Very difficult saplings and seedlings identification to whatever possible taxonomic resolution, even if only family or genus,
makes up part of what I work on.

Best,
Jason. – April 30th
