My sincere thanks to Dan Spaulding curator of the Anniston Museum of Natural History who directed my attention to a paper he wrote about Dodders. Hooray! This project used to be called" Hosts for American Mistletoe: Oak or No?" We wanted to document whether Phoradendron leucarpum mostly lived on oak trees or had other hosts. But since winter is the ideal time to spot mistletoe growing on bare trees, this project hardly had any activity any other time of the year.
