Amateur, focused primarily on Lepidoptera (I really like Crambidae and Drepanidae especially) but also a huge fan of hoppers, Odonata, fungi, and mosses!

Fair warning, I will sometimes post very everyday organisms like common urban birds and squirrels and the like, just for the sake of making my collection of observations more "complete" (like filling a Pokédex for the places I've been, I suppose). Usually I try to have just one of each for those though, to avoid clogging the Needs ID page.

I also like Autographa californica, so despite that species' commonness I will post them if I find one with features that strike me as odd, or if I just like how the photo turned out.

I sincerely apologize to anyone unfortunate enough to have me give a species-level ID for any non-lepidopteran taxon when I first joined the site – I did NOT know what I was doing, so for the sake of integrity I have withdrawn all of those IDs. This means there are some planthoppers, fish, etc from 2020 that have been reverted to Needs ID – to anybody whose observations have been affected by that, I am sorry for causing this problem in the first place.
