Common Green Darners have been very thin in my area so far this year. This preserve had maybe 8 in the past couple weeks. Today I saw a few pair, and one landed next to my leg and I was able to take several photos without disturbing them.

Finally a dry day with mild temperature, and the preserve was filled with thousands of Damselflies. I've never seen so many in this location.
This immature male Eastern Forktail was one of many.

This oddity-rarity is an Eastern Forktail; with the classic thin broken shoulder line of a Fragile FT; but the colors are different as well.
Bold Eastern FT green eyes, with Blue eye spots, blue line on the prothorax, Blue ring on Segment 1 ,blue thorax, blue end of abdomen, and pale yellow below.
Both stigmas appear to be a diffused brown.
I was having camera issues and lost many photos on this trip; so I have only this view.
Finally a dry day with mild temperature, and the preserve was filled with thousands of Damselflies. I've never seen so many in this location.
