Harris's Checkerspot (Chlosyne harrisii) is a member of the Nymphalidae family that is found in North America. They range from the Atlantic provinces, excluding Newfoundland and Labrador, to Manitoba and North Dakota south to West Virginia and Ohio. They can often be seen in bogs, meadows and almost anywhere else its host plant occurs. The typical elevations for this species range from 0–1742 feet.

Comments: Open, shrubby or edge areas with the foodplant ASTER UMBELLATUS including bogs, marshes, moist to wet meadows, abandoned pastures, roadside, along streams, right of ways. Less limited to wetlands in northeastern parts of range.
