Nagoonberry

Rubus arcticus arcticus

Summary 2

Expected to occur within the park (Hultén 1968) but has previously not been reported on the Yukon North Slope (Cody 1996). This widespread common species is endemic but found throughout northern regions of North America. It was seen and collected by D. McClellan near the mouth of the Firth River in 2008. This is the first collection from the North Slope and the park. It is a range extension of nearly 100 km from a site in Vuntut National Park (Bennett 2000) and was seen but not collected in the Mackenzie Delta region in Yukon (Bennett unpublished).
