Observer

Description

Camphor Daisy observed at Surfside Beach TX. Similar to Camphorweed (which apparently blooms at the same time in fall, and is a close look-alike), except Camphor Daisy is more spreading and not as tall, and its leaves are glossy with markedly sawtooth edges. Camphorweed has a variable laneolate-shaped rough-surfaced leaf that has a wavy and scalloped edge with just few points. That is, in my limited observations.

Honeylocust observed along FM-2004 near Jones Creek. The heavily-thorned version found in Brazoria County was once thought to be a variety or hybrid called Texas Honeylocust (Gleditsia x texana), perhaps a hybrid with Water Locust, but current taxonomy seems to group it back into the main species.
