The Night-Heron was found along side a lake, standing on cat tails. The bird was roughly 20inches tall. The photography was taken on a bright sunny day with a temperature of approximately 85 degrees fahrenheit. The bird had a dark grey and black appearance with a narrow beak. The Night Heron had dark crimson eyes.

The earthworm in this photograph was taken along side a small pond bank after a rainy day. The earth worm is a segmented worm belonging to the annelid phylum. These earthworms were located everywhere around the pond, looking for matter to eat. The earthworm was close to 2 inches in length nevertheless, the worm can stretch its body to make it seem shorter or longer.

The Christmas lichen was found on a very tall pine tree along the trails in the fish hawk preserve. The colors of red and green that it displays resembles a Christmas wreath , giving its name Christmas lichen. The photograph of the lichen was taken about 5 feet from the base of the tree. The tree was covered in spots of the Christmas lichen all around. The diameter of was approximately 1-2 inches however it varied along the tree.

This seedless vascular plant was located upon a large oak tree. The seedless vascular plant was identified as a pleopeltis. The pleopeltis is a genus of ferns in the family Polypodidaea. The plant was spread across the oak tree. The plant was a bright forest green color with the blades of the fern varying from 4-12 inches in length. The fern seemed to be very healthy with the forest green pigment on the leaves.

This seedless non-vascular plant was taken on a massive oak tree along the trail in the fishhawk reserves. The tree was approximately 50ft with moss and lichen covering the tree in vast areas. The most abundant that I was able to locate was towards the base of the tree. The moss color was a dark greenish brown.

This angiosperm was found near a small pond in the fishawk reserve trail area. The stem of this plant was approximately 9inches with the flower itself having a diameter of 1inch. The flower had a bright yellow and white color. The plant was surrounded with other similar plants. Also trees in the landscape provided shade for the small flower. The soil was quite harsh with rocks and debris covering the soil.
