Coyote (Canis latrans)Observer
selwynqDescription
Not sure if this is one of the pair of mangy coyotes hanging around the parking lot and meadow at Rancho but if so the mange has gotten a lot worse. There are now also 'coyote alert' notices posted around the park warning visitors of unusual coyote behaviour and not to approach.

Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus)Observer
selwynqDescription
A second of the four baby owls fell out of the tree today. Fortunately it did a good job of hiding itself in the ivy. It looked alert and uninjured so decided to leave it alone for the night to see if would make its way back.
Was able to locate all four owls today back up in the trees!
