What
Vermilion Waxcap (Hygrocybe miniata)Observer
wildmacroDescription
Cap was viscid and slightly bumpy, about 1cm in diameter. Stipe was not viscid. Some specimens were growing with moss, others from bare soil. Some nearby specimens had scalloped margins. Mixed redwood/tanoak forest. H. marchii looks like a reasonable match, but expert input would be appreciated.
What
Genus PhysarumObserver
wildmacroDescription
My first thought was Physarum globuliferum, now Nannengaella globulifera, but I'm not very confident. I photographed this specimen because of the novelty of the fused sporangia. Now I'm wishing I had taken the time to capture one of the typical fruiting bodies from the group...

Brewer's Monkeyflower (Erythranthe breweri)Observer
wildmacroDescription
I initially figured this had to be Brewer's monkeyflower, but then I discovered Diplacus leptaleus, which seems to be a better fit due to the pedicel being shorter than the calyx. Feedback with explanations will be greatly appreciated.

Cultivated on an old Andricus quercuscalifornicus gall in a moist chamber. My first thought was Comatricha, but these were much smaller than I've previously seen. ~0.6mm tall. White to pink to brown.
