I've long been interested in plants, though didn't start my gardening journey until taking a horticulture class in college, which led to container gardens on apartment balconies then a larger canvas on our suburban home property, where my exposure to and passion for insects and ecology took off, combining with my life-long interest in photography. In 2019 I started really diving into native plants, creating our first dedicated Texas native garden. I've watched many educational presentations hosted by NPSOT, Texas Master Naturalists, the Florida Wildlfower Foundation, and others, in addition to reading articles online and books. With my husband's help we've continued replacing more lawn with native plants, including building a wildlife pond with aquatic natives, supporting a whole other world of fauna!
