I am a forest entomologist and community ecologist, currently studying the effects of southern pine beetle (Dendroctonus frontalis Zimm.) range expansion in New England. For part of my PhD work (which should be complete in early 2025!) I designed and conducted a funnel trapping study for forest beetles. Some of my observations come from these samples--mostly the ones you can see I photographed through the microscope. I love exploring my environment; I get to move my body and learn about new species!
