Description

Bright orange cups on a broken hardwood stick (Fraxinus). The stick was about 10mm in diameter around the fungus area, with no algae on it. It looks dry.

The largest two apothecia were 0.65 and 0.57mm.
Ascospores measure in H2O
(5.3) 5.6 - 7 (8) × (1.9) 2 - 2.3 (2.4) µm
Q = (2.4) 2.5 - 3.3 (4.3) ; N = 16
Me = 6.3 × 2.2 µm ; Qe = 2.9

There is a picture that shows the tree the stick likely came from. The only other fungus that was growing on that stick is Hypoxylon fraxinophilum.

There are pictures of conidia that were found on that stick. None of them match to O. caudata.

Sequencing didn't work on it.
