Great Southern Bioblitz 2021 Overstrand's Journal

Get to know iNat for GSB!

Hopefully you are excited to show the world how unbelievable diverse this area is!

All you need is iNaturalist and a desire to have some fun between 22 - 25 October taking photos of every single species you can find (it is advised that you take 3 or 4 shots of each where you can - so for example, close-ups of the front and back of a flower, then one showing the stem/leaves).

Get your family, friends, colleagues, club members, schools, etc on board to maximise the number of photos within the time frame. And here's a great intro to iNat for beginners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb_xlFJtPg4

For those of you who already know iNat and want to learn more - here is the Advanced workshop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hcv_TVhaUVw

Let's get the Overstand top of the list!

This is for everyone - you do not have to be a scientist or a photographer - you just need to care about our environment (and about getting Overstrand on the global map!!).

Between 22nd and 25th October we need ALL of you out there taking pics of every living species - this could be in your garden, on a walk, on the beach, etc. You can upload photos of plants, insects, fungi, mammals, reptiles, insects, etc. The only requirement is that you do this on iNaturalist.org (app on your phone or computer - it helps with identification and records time and place).

You can join online training sessions for free every Wednesday at 19h00 to prepare: https://www.facebook.com/events/377265194018556

This is only the second GSB and we are participating for the first time ever, together with cities from across the Southern Hemisphere! Let's show them we have the most diverse biosphere ever 🙂 https://www.inaturalist.org/.../great-southern-bioblitz...
