Thank You Everyone!

The first iNaturalist Summer Hunt has ended! Thank you for everyone who participated!!!
This was so much more of a success than I could have hoped for in the first year- 120,000 observations by 40 people is amazing!
While you all post your final observations from the timeframe, I will work on a more detailed statistics journal post- which should be ready by next week, to give everyone time to get the final observations in!

If you found a species that was a first recorded on iNat, like my observation of Machimus autumnalis or juan_sphex's observation of Fumariphilus versicolor, please share it in the comments! Also share rarer or uncommon observations that I can put in the stats post- some are difficult to find on my own.

Make sure to join for 2025's competition!

To highlight from my observations in this project, these 3 species, for me there must be more but there are so many that it is impossible for me to search for all of them, Labdia semicoccinea, first images of this species for Spain, Varta rubrostriata, would be the first record for Europe, Neltuma juliflora, first appointment for Europe.

Thank you for organising this event! I really enjoyed participating and I think I took more photos of plants than I would otherwise have. I have two observations, which were an iNat First at that moment (not any more though.)
A moth Cleonymia pectinicornis https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/205306588 and
a hermit crab Diogenes curvimanus https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/224272007.
If you want to see more of my activities, I am writing a journal post with monthly summaries for the year (not only during the time of the summer hunt). https://www.inaturalist.org/journal/susanne-kasimir/89332-inat-year-2024-goals-and-monthly-recaps-september
