Weather: cold, rained a bit, then nice, then cold....
Coverage: Aldercroft Heights intersection to the first stop sign. I walked with Kat.
Newts: we had ?? dead newts, a few of them juveniles, including very small ones. I had 43 of the newts on the reservoir side, and 28 on the hill side.
Other roadkills: a toad, and some kind of a frog.
Traffic: 27 cars, 5 trucks (SJJJ, Midpen), 0 motorcycles, 0 bikes, 8 pedestrians, 3 parked cars.

Oh no! It looks like this will be another record-breaking year. Poor little newts. When will help arrive?

we're working on it!
I actually think we're seeing lower numbers than I'd expect, and I don't think that's a good thing.

I know you're working on it and I know it's a difficult site to find mitigations for. I truly appreciate the work you're doing. I'm just impatient for a fix.
This is a strange year. Migration started about 2 months earlier than usual because of the early rain. I wonder how long the migration will last - into April, May, June? The graphs on the project page show this year is second only to last year's record-breaking 8,210 observations. So many have died. It just breaks my heart.

I agree. I hope we won't be too late.
