SA iNaturalists - June 2024 Update

The rains have finally arrived, and the wet weather species are finally popping up. This month our community added 12,149 new observations covering 2,200 species from 669 people. The cold weather doesn't slow us down, with a new observation on average every 4 minutes through June, and an average of 65 people uploading each day.

We also surpassed 12,000 species recorded on iNaturalist across South Australia! The more species we record, the more difficult it becomes to find additional ones. But there are FAR more species yet to be found by the iNat community in SA. Keep the records coming. Lots of opportunity for new contributors to be the first to upload a species in SA

The Great Southern Bioblitz is back and now only 70 days away. The Great Southern Bioblitz 2024 Umbrella Project is up. So too is the Greater Adelaide project and the City of Onkaparinga project. Join up to one or all to show your support. Let's make this the best year yet.

See the community's favourite observations from June.

Data used for this post taken on the 11th of July. It excludes any observations and identifications from June that were uploaded after this date.
