On my 23Jun2024 hike on the Dry Creek-Shingle Creek Loop, I saw (my counts were not as accurate as I have kept in the past, but they are about right):
1 butterfly with green wings (about the size of an Acmon Blue; green on outside, i.e., under wing)
2 California Tortoiseshell
6 Duskywing
14 Crescent or Checkerspot
26 Small White
34 Swallowtail
36 Fritillary
36 Comma
38 Lorquin’s Admiral
44 Wood-Nymph
54 Common Ringlet
154 species of Blue (20 individuals, then groups, along streams, of 10, 20, 10, 80, 10, and maybe 4 more individuals; maybe I have some Hairstreaks in this count)

The ones with orange wings —Tortoiseshell, Fritillary, Comma— could be off; some I saw at a distance, and so might have miss-IDed and got them in the wrong category.

And I saw lots of wildflowers, hundreds and hundreds of roses, some birds (and heard some species of bird), some crickets, lots of grasshoppers, lots of wasps and bees, some Elk tracks, a frog, an American Bullfrog, and a fish.
