These were found in the high alpine zone on cerro Castillo. These were some of the few plants found growing in the area and were always found in sheltered cracks in the rocks. They also had succulent leaves and presumably didn’t bloom often because of the harsh climate. Winds were up to 60km per hour at the time and it was very impressive to see plants growing there.

Found on the trail to lago duff in cerro Castillo national park. It was a plant that could bare high winds and looked very capable of growing in very harsh alpine climates. It had small purple buds that had not yet blossomed and the leaves were sharp.
