There were two large areas of these nest holes but apparently they had been partially taken over by the pebble/carder bees and there were exposed larva in a grassy area where most of the bindweed turret bees were circling (another observation) It wasn't clear if any of them were using these and there were also several bee flies buzzing around the area...it was so frantic I really couldn't get many photos of all the things flying around.
