Coyote caught a vole right off the trail about 100 yards from the Ashram.

Hawk must have had a meal; raven flew slow and low to pick at it - hawk flew off, leaving raven. Then along came one of the resident bald eagles who watched the whole thing from its perch.

Swimming along lakeshore at dusk. 90% sure this is a beaver and not a muskrat. Appeared to be too large, and swam with head well above water, with no body or tail visible.

This moth was about 1/2 inch from head to tail. Very colorful.

Sunning itself on a trail between a wetland area and mixed grass prairie. Not too sure on species--is it a Milk Snake??

Second time this week I've seen this falcon on the western edge of Lac Amora Open Space.

A pair of Western Grebes were doing their mating dance ("rushing") on Great Western Reservoir.

She was watching over one of her little owlets that fledged a few weeks ago.

These two photos are 20-30 minutes apart and they showed no signs of letting up, though the action had move slightly downhill as they wrestled.

Leucistic or hybrid?

Hopped across road in front of car, then stopped near a fencepost to dig around a little. Tried to hide by making itself small, but then it relaxed and began feeding.

Not certain on Ross v Snow. Think they're Ross's because bill seems to have relatively straight line where it meets head.

Prairie Falcon killed a young Prairie Dog, and then a Black-billed Magpie scavenged alongside.
