A bit later in the night a Black Bear walked past the camera, setting off three shots. This was very exciting to see when I reviewed the photos in the morning. Last spring we had a bear eat from our bird feeder; this could be the same individual.

This invasive Geranium arrived in our yard about a decade ago as a stowaway weed with some perennial flowers that we bought from a Vermont nursery, which in turn obtained some of their stock from a well-known flower farm in western Connecticut, in which area this weedy Geranium has also been observed.

Over the years, before I realized what it was, this plant spread rapidly across our lawn and into our fields. I am trying hard to contain it, so as not to have my yard become the epicenter of a new invasive infestation.
