This was such a cool discovery for me. As this plant sprouted from the one pond in the park it became an increasing mystery---I could not figure it out. As the buds started shooting up I began to anticipate the flower and (hopefully) the key to identifying my mystery plant. Today was my first look at the open flower and within 2 minutes on montereywildflowers.com (an awesome web resource) I had my ID! And it's native!
