male with eggs
Spotted in Shelly Pool at night.
There were hundreds, maybe thousands of these that swam by. It 2.5minutes for the whole school to pass by.
This was white when we first saw it and then it changed to yellow with bright blue spots after about 5 minutes while we watched it.
It was found living in sea grass..(there was a storm recently with big seas)
Huge school came through close to shore.
At first we saw small attachments to a long tentacle which finally was released or fell off.
We saw 2 cuttlefish mating today. The first photo is an actual photo, the rest are stills from a video. There was so much action happening to stop the video for photos.
We saw a few of these today at high tide. One was on the lower part of the wall right near the entrance to Shiprock aquatic reserve. (this observation)
I know it's a bird but I'd like it added to our project!!
I put a fixed camera on a ledge in one metre of water at Shiprock aquatic Reserve pointing down to the channel and lo and behold when I looked at the footage there were fish and more fish for many minutes....and then a cormorant swimming under water right towards the camera!!!!! How amazing!!What luck!!!
