At first when I saw them I thought they were hoverfly larvae, then I thought maybe a scale insect. Update: Now that I have looked closely at the underside & head I think it must be something else. Unfortunately, these are about the best photo's I can get with my little pocket macro camera.
Note: this is not something I am able to collect and grow to see what it becomes.
