One skink observed. Initially seen amongst boulders and leaf litter on edge of river bed underneath steep bank. When approached for photos it climbed up the bank. Habitat photos at the end. Incredibly happy to have seen this species, one I have seen before but wasn't quick enough to get a photo!

Spotted a large log that turned into an albatross when we got closer.
Obviously enjoying the Tohe as it stayed put when I went to get photos.
I have tentatively given this the ID of Antipodean albatross as from NZbirdsonline ID system this is the only one that lives within this area (30 - 50 degrees north-south and here is 34 degrees).
Or it could be Gibson's albatross (Diomedea antipodensis gibsoni)
